Welcome to People for the Ethical Treatment of People. The group was founded by students at Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va. and has a wide variety of platform issues.
Are you tired of seeing babies run around naked on television? Are you tired of unnecessary outside pressure to abstain from meat and eat only fruits and vegetables? Are you a Marshall University student tired of hearing the diarrhea of the mouth that often flows from M.A.P.S.? If you've answered yes to those questions, People for the Ethical Treatment of People might be the group you're looking for.
Meeting Thursday!
People for the Ethical Treatment of People will conduct a meeting Thursday, April 17, 2003 at the Memorial Student Center. We will be meeting after the College Republicans meeting and will be holding the meeting where they house their meeting. CRs begin at 5:30, our meeting will probably start at about 6 or 6:15. Check in the Student Center for their listings to see where the College Republicans are meeting. It is often in Marcos but meeting locations sometimes change without notice.
Progress Report:
People for the Ethical Treatment of People (PETp) is not currently a recognized student group at Marshall University. We are however attempting to obtain that status and nearing that occurrence. Officers have been selected and our constitution has been ratified at our first meeting. We are currently looking for an adviser to support the club and we will then be submitting the necessary paperwork to the appropriate university channel.
This group, to the best of our knowledge, is the first true chapter of the People for the Ethical Treatment of People, and we look forward to seeing other chapters springing up across the country. The time is now.

People for the Ethical Treatment of People Established
HUNTINGTON, W.Va.-- A group of students with platform goals of removing naked children from diaper ads and standing up for the right to eat meat has formed on the campus of Marshall University.
People for the Ethical Treatment of People elected officers and ratified their constitution at a meeting Sunday afternoon.
"We hope to bring morals and common sense to the community," John Allan, PETp president, said. "We want students here to realize that there is common sense on this campus, not just left wing mumbo-jumbo."
The group's main goal is to push for the removal of naked babies from diaper ads. "If an older child was seen in the nude on television it's considered pornography," Allan said. "Why use younger children and say that it's ok?"
